Bryan police have made two arrests that have cleared some of the approximately 30 burglaries reported this month.
Officer Kelley McKethan says a woman accused of walking into two houses on Patton Avenue August 3rd was caught the next day coming out of a house on Graham Street. 43 year old Gayla Robertson has been in jail since her arrest on August 4th for walking into homes, taking purses, and walking out…sometimes with the occupants also at home.

On Wednesday morning, a Bryan man was arrested for entering one home and attempting to enter two others. According to the arrest report, 34 year old Buddy Perez entered a house on West 29th between Randolph and Logan. That awakened one of the occupants, who confronted Perez with a baseball bat then Perez took off. During the search, an officer questioned a suspect who was identified as a known burglar. The suspect saw Perez run across the street then told the officer…quoting…”That’s the guy you need to be looking for.” Perez was found inside a home on Commerce Street. Police recovered two silver watches, three gold rings, and collectable coins. According to the arrest report, Perez is a possible suspect in additional break-ins.
