Bryan Council Schedules Special Meetings on Superpark Referendum

August 12, 2014 by Archive

The Bryan city council will meet Friday morning and next Monday in order to place on the November election ballot a non-binding referendum over the future of the municipal golf course.

Click HERE for the proposed ballot language.

In the form of a yes or no question, Bryan voters would be asked if they support converting the course to a regional super park to include facilities for a variety of recreational activities.

The list includes team sports along with walking trails, water recreation, special needs amenities, senior exercise stations, miniature golf, a skate park, and a sports learning center.

The referendum is in addition to a proposal with the Phillips Event Center for golf and a new senior center that would close the municipal course.
