Bryan school officials and their consulting architect were scheduled to spend Thursday afternoon at Merrill Green stadium, where a proposed bond issue now calls for $2.5 million dollars of improvements.
During a school board workshop on Wednesday, Superintendent Tommy Wallis said he organized the inspection after board member David Stasny asked why it would cost $2 million just to replace the press box. Dr. Wallis says they’re looking at a less expensive alternative of replacing the shell.
Wallis also said several spots where the pavement has cracked and shifted need to be repaired, and joints need to be sealed.
The school board on Monday night is scheduled to finalize the bond proposal they want voters to consider in November.
