A Bryan man is out of jail on bond after he turned himself in for manslaughter charges stemming from a fatal traffic accident at the end of May.
Police say tests at St. Joseph Hospital show 21-year-old Erick Sanchez-Zepeda had almost three times the legal limit of alcohol in his blood an hour after he crashed a truck through a pipe fence.
One passenger, 23-year-old German Rodarte, was killed, while the other, 22-year-old Ana Zuniga, was sitting between Sanchez-Zepeda’s legs and turning the sterring wheel as he operated the pedals.
The pair told police that after the men left a night club around 2:30 a-m, they picked up Zuniga, wanting to teach her how to drive. The crash took place about 6:15 on Hilton Road near Sandy Point.
Both Sanchez-Zepeda and Zuniga bonded out on $100,000 dollars each after turning themselves in this week.
