A knife wielding woman, under the influence of narcotics, was arrested by Navasota PD this week following a stabbing, and running toward officers with the weapon.
As first reported by the Examiner, Navasota PD responded to the 100 block of West Lee for reports of a possibly intoxicated female. Officers arrived to find the woman walking around in a yard, talking to herself. When officers approached, the ran toward officers with a knife. She was detained, and admitted to being under the influence of several narcotics.
The woman was identified at 49 year old Angela Lamar of Bryan.
Officers later found, and tended to, the 64 year old who had been reportedly stabbed by Lamar. She was transported to CHI St Joseph Grimes hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Lamar was treated at the hospital for narcotics ingestion, and released to be booked into the Grimes County Jail on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
