A College Station man at home Tuesday afternoon went outside to his garage and shot a burglary suspect.
23 year old Daniel Pinon of Navasota is in the Brazos County jail after a trip to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to his leg.
College Station Police Lt. Chuck Fleeger says Pinon was shot during a physical confrontation with the 30 year old man who lives on Wildrye. That’s located in the Southwood Valley neighborhood two blocks north of Brian Bachmann community park.
After being shot, Fleeger says Pinon fled on foot. He was caught less than ten minutes later in the area of Rock Prairie and Normand, between the park and College Station Medical Center.
The man who shot Pinon, who was not hurt, pointed out a car that the suspect was driving. Fleeger says the car was reported stolen earlier in the day in Grimes County.
Pinon was arrested for burglary of a habitation and unauthorized use of a vehicle, and is jailed in lieu of bonds totaling $20,000.
