Burn Ban in Effect for Grimes County

Grimes County Commissioners Court met in a special session today at 1 p.m. to discuss and take action to approve a burn ban effectively immediately.

Grimes County Judge Joe Fauth had some discussion regarding the burn ban prior to the court’s vote.

Fauth also brought up Texas Renaissance Festival concerns, stipulations, and laws involved when enacting the burn ban.

Grimes County Emergency Management Services Coordinator, David Lilly, also addressed the court regarding input from county fire chiefs, noting there were two grass fires in the county at the time of the meeting.

The court unanimously voted to approve enacting the burn ban effective immediately.
