Burn Ban in effect for Grimes County

There is now a burn ban in place for Grimes County.

According to a post on the Grimes County Courthouse Facebook page, and emergency meeting was held at 2 pm on Friday. There, the Commissioner’s Court voted to put a burn ban in place for Grimes County, which went into effect at 2 pm on Friday.

Violations of the burn ban are punishable by a fine not to exceed $500 and is a Class C Misdemeanor.

The burn ban had been lifted since October 2019.

The county joined Trinity County on Friday, and joins Brazos, Walker and Waller Counties in enacting the ban.
