Burn Ban lifted for Grimes County

September 12, 2018 by Andre Perrard

The burn ban has finally been lifted for the county. At Wednesday’s meeting of Commissioner’s Court, County Judge Joe Fauth made the decision to lift the burn ban.

“The entire county has had some rain. The forecast for today is more rain. And as we are moving through this weekend, a lot more rain. Four to eight inches potentially,” said Fauth. “So, I make a motion we remove the burn ban for Grimes County.”

The Burn Ban had been in effect since July 25th. As the Judge mentioned, there is more rain on tap through the rest of the week then over the weekend, there is potential for some very heavy rain. But, the important thing is that you may resume burning as needed within the county. We will update you here on Navasota News if anything changes.
