After seven successful years of intervention on behalf of the County of Grimes’ youngest, CASA of the Brazos Valley’s Voices for Children finally has a home of its own right here in Navasota.
Casa’s Leanna Lowey tells Navasota News that their newly open office here in Grimes County will make it much easier for folks who’d like to help.
After completing a short training process and being sworn-in as officers of the court, she continues, CASA volunteers are assigned either one child or a group of siblings. And it is their job to interview on their behalf with their teachers, caregivers and therapists, let judges know what is going on, and make recommendations and Lowey promises, you can become one of the experts on these kids’ lives. All you need is to be at least 21 years of age and pass a federal background check.
To find out more, you’re invited to stop by the new Navasota offices for CASA’s Voices for Children, inside the Grimes-St Joseph Health Center on Judson st, visit www.vcfbrazos.org, or call 979-822-9700.
