The toddler found face down in a pond near Stoneham last week has passed away at the hospital.
The 18 month old was airlifted to Texas Children’s on Wednesday afternoon, December 15th, after being found in the water at County Road 302 and Lakeshore Drive.
The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office says that the call was received from the child’s father, who said the toddler managed to sneak out of the house, possibly through a side door.
The father jumped in and began performing CPR. The family says they were turned around for mere moments, before realizing the child had gotten out.
No further information has been released.
