The City of Navasota announced a new Community Services Director. And although the title is new, appointee Tiffany Byers, is a “veteran” City employee.
A press release from the City of Navasota reads in part… “Ms. Byers has done amazing work at providing programming and activities at our Navasota Public Library, including the monthly Farmers Market. She immersed herself within our community and has fostered some great relationships,” said Jason Weeks, City Manager of Navasota. “With City Council wanting to expand our Parks & Recreation Department programming, I knew that Tiffany would be the ideal team member to take the Library Services and Parks & Recreation Department to the next level. I’m excited to see how Ms. Byers grows and excels in this new role!”
Byers has a proven track record of service within the Navasota community. She previously served as the Marketing and Special Events Coordinator for the City of Navasota, where she demonstrated her ability to organize successful community events and engage residents. For the past four years, Byers has served as the Library Director for the Navasota Public Library, where she oversaw initiatives to promote literacy, education, and lifelong learning.
Byers holds a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Sciences from Texas A&M University. Byers resides in Navasota with her 12-year-old daughter, Leanna, and is also a member of the local Noon Lions Club. Her combination of experience, education, and passion for service make her uniquely qualified to lead Navasota towards a future filled with opportunity.
Byers stopped by the studio to give us the details of her newly added position.
As the new Community Services Director, Byers wants to make the City’s facilities more accessible to local non-profits.
Byers will remain the Library Director as well, and hopes to expand their popular Monthly Farmer’s Market.
