City of Navasota asks citizens to trim low hanging trees

October 9, 2020 by Andre Perrard

The City of Navasota is asking residents to help improve the safety of the community by trimming low hanging tree branches over the roads.

Due to overwhelming tree growth, the city is asking for residents’ assistance trimming overgrown trees that impact the roadways. Tree canopies above the road should be trimmed to a minimum height of 14 feet.

Tree trimmings will be collected on a call-in basis, which can be done by contacting the Public Works Department with your address, and debris will be collected by city staff.

Low hanging branches over the road can prevent fire trucks, buses, garbage trucks, and other emergency vehicles from passage. Low hanging trees not taken care of by residents will be handled by city contractors.

Please contact the Public Works Department at (936)825-6450 with any questions, or to schedule a tree trimmings pick up.
