The Big Boy Steam Locomotive will be making not one, but two stops in Navasota.
Built in the 1940s to haul heavy freight across mountainous regions of the western United States, it is known as an engineering marvel for its size and power.
After being retired in 1961, it has been restored to its former glory by Union Pacific, and is on its “Heartland of America Tour.”
Marketing and Communications Manager, Taylor Hughes gives details about the stops it will make in Navasota.
Navasota Police Chief, Mike Mize, talks about road and rail crossings that will be in place for the events.
