City of Navasota urges caution when allowing access to home

April 20, 2020 by Willy1550

The City of Navasota is asking residents to be mindful of a new scam happening across Texas.

According to a press release sent on Monday, the city said that some cities across the state have experienced individuals attempting to access customers homes, claiming to be sent by the city to test water in the home for COVID-19.

The city reminds citizen’s that this is not a test being performed by the City of Navasota, nor any company contracted by the city. Employees of the city will be dressed in identifying uniforms and drive city vehicles.

Health officials have stated there is no evidence that COVID-19 lives in treated water.

If you have any questions, contact the city at 936-825-6475.
