The City of Navasota Public Water system was notified on Friday, November 8, 2024, that samples taken from two water wells tested positive for E. coli. Upon notification, the wells were immediately removed from use. The City of Navasota coordinated with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to conduct additional testing.
As of Tuesday, November 12, 2024, both water wells tested negative for E. coli and are back in service.
