Despite leading the Navasota Ratters to winning the state championship . . . Twice . . . The NISD School Board decided not to extend Head Coach Lee Fedora’s contract Monday night February 15th.
NISD Superintendent Rory Gesh tells Navasota News Board Member Hollis Hood made a motion for the standard contract extension, but it fell on deaf ears, as apparently none of the other board members thought it was worth seconding, so the motion died.
Gesh says, if two school board members bring up the head coach’s contract up again, it can still be put to a vote. But as of right now, fedora’s timer is running down until another contract review next February.
And as fans in and around rattler nation begin reeling in reaction to the school board’s confusing action, or rather inaction Monday night, we will be following closely with more for you as this story develops, at 1550 on your am dial and here online at navasotanews.com
