Besides choosing their presidential pick, some Navasota High School Seniors also face either furthering their education or joining the workforce after graduation. And all this week the high school’s College and Career Readiness Center will help them focus on getting their paperwork, applications and more together for College Application Week.
The Center’s Rachel Wales tells Navasota News, applying for either the FAFSA or TAFSA financial aid program should be one of the first things students do, when applying to colleges, tech or trade schools.
Through these programs, Wales says kids can either get low-interest loans or grant money to help pay for their college experience.
Wales reports, the state of Texas is hoping to see more students seek higher education as more and more employers are seeking workers with more than just a High School Diploma.
So just to encourage your youngster even more, she continues, students who get all their applications and paperwork turned in by this Friday, Nov. 11th, will be invited to party and awarded a pie just in time for the holidays. For more information, call the high school, 936-825-4200.
