College Station Based Special Olympics Team in National Competition

June 19, 2014 by Archive

The 2014 Special Olympics U.S. Games are underway in Newark, New Jersey, and a local team secured a silver medal.

On-air personality Katy Dempsey from sister station Candy 95 is a player on local flag football team, the Goose Bombers.

She says the preparation for nationals was intense, as the team practiced twice a week and were the team to beat going into the final medal round.

Dempsey is currently traveling back to Texas and says well-wishes can be offered to the team on Candy 95’s Facebook page.
