Grimes County’s own congressman Kevin Brady has issued a challenge to newly elected President Joe Biden, in disagreement with what he calls the targeting of the energy sector.
“Come here to Houston. Meet face to face with the workers whose jobs you have ended. Meet with their families, and their companies, who by the way face even more layoffs, thanks to you. Tell them why their jobs don’t matter to you, why their families do not matter. Tell them where they can apply now for all those good paying jobs you promised will replace them,” said Brady. “Mr. President, you pledged at Inauguration to do your very best for all of America, not just those who supported you. Reversing your job killing decisions would be a good place to start.”
Brady, who spoke to the media in Houston on Wednesday, continued on with his criticism of Biden, and actions he took recently in reversing Trump orders, which he says cut over 1 million energy jobs.
“Many of them are blue collar, many of them are union, many of them are here in Texas. More than 120,000 of those jobs. His attack on traditional American energy workers may be cheered by the Green New Deal crowd, by Russia, by China, by the Middle East, but it is devastating to our workers, their families, and local businesses here in Texas,” said Brady.
Brady said recently as well that he believes Biden will follow through on reversing Trump’s tax policies.
