Congressman Kevin Brady, who represents Grimes County in Washington, was in Navasota to visit with residents on Friday morning at the Classic Rock Coffee Company. Brady talked about a variety of topics, from impeachment inquiries to high speed rail.
One of the first things he touched on though, is the economy. He says talks about a coming recession are just meaningless chatter.
“Not only do we have a chance to grow the economy further,. Today’s news, unemployment rate at its lowest in a half a century, tells us that talk about a recession, I think, is fairly ridiculous,” Brady said.
He also gave his two cents on the recent impeachment inquiry against President Trump.
“I think this impeachment is really a con job,” said Brady. “The American public does not support it. Most Americans see it as an effort to damage Trump’s re-election campaign.
Brady said the impeachment inquires will do nothing but slow Washington down. In his talk, Brady also mentioned that he does not believe the high speed rail project from Dallas to Houston will ever be finished.
