County Judge Joe Fauth thanks citizen’s for responsible holiday, but reminds of burn ban in effect

July 7, 2022 by Andre Perrard

After recent fires in Grimes County, officials kindly remind you that a Burn Ban remains in effect, while the dry hot weather continues.

County Judge Joe Fauth reminded everyone on Wednesday of the ban, but also, even with the recent fires, thanked folks for not causing any trouble on the holiday.

“That was put in place on June 15th, and that is an automatic 90 day run, until we decide to eliminate, or extend it,” said Fauth. “I, again, want to thank the citizen’s for being conscious of the burn ban, and being careful as they celebrated Independence Day.”

Navasota Police reportedly responded to over 20 calls for firework usage  town, which is illegal, but no fires were started as a result.

Reminder that if you burn illegally during the ban, you could be subject to fines up to $500.
