If you live up in the north end of the county, or wouldn’t mind driving there to save a life or two, Grimes County’s Emergency Management Coordinator wants to talk to you about a series of Community Emergency Response Team classes coming up July 28th.
The classes are absolutely free, says David Lilly, and your training will not be the only thing that you’ll walk away with.
But, you must attend all eight weeks to be certified, Lilly cautions, adding that the classes are open to interested citizens of all ages; though there are some activities that members need to be at least 18 to take part in, and others where a certain level of physical strength is required. But, he says, there will be several different areas where you can apply your CERT training locally.
There’s only catch, says Lilly. They must have a certain number of folks signed-up before they can actually hold the class. So if you think there’s even a possibility you might be interested, please give Lilly a call today for all the details at 979-204-4592.
