County Pays Homage To Beloved Public Servant

March 9, 2015 by Willy1550

Following the largest visitation funeral director Jeffrey Nobles said he’d ever seen, and the most flowers, hundreds of Grimes County residents packed Christ Our Light Catholic Church in celebration of the life of Precinct Four Commissioner Pam Finke, who was taken suddenly last week, at the tender age of 50.

Sheriff Don Sowell tells Navasota News his family and the Finkes have been long time friends, and in that time Finke has always volunteered her time to any who needed it.

He admits he is having a difficult time, trying to come the terms with the loss of such a friend.

Fellow commissioner David Dobyanski says in the short time he’s been on the court, he’s learned a lot from Finke, bringing their teacher-student relationship full circle.

And now, he adds, the county must say good-bye to one of it’s most dedicated and humble servants.

According to her father, the long-time public servant succumbed to a blood clot in her lung Tuesday afternoon at the St. Joseph regional health center in Bryan. She was laid to her final and well-deserved rest in Oakland cemetery.
