Those who disregard load regulations on Grimes County roads are being put on notice; most recently, Commissioner David Dobyanski reported to fellow commissioners, a contractor for Centerpoint.
And if the damage continues, Dobyanski said, he told Knife River to expect a bill. And they’re not the only ones causing damage by a long shot, he continued, others have also been using non-designated roads, tearing up, for example, a newly-paved portion of County Road 313. And it’s not limited by 313 by a long stretch.
Dobyanski said Centerpoint’s promised to pass new maps out to all of its contractors as he and the county road and bridge engineer work to maintain compliance.
The county has re-doubled efforts at monitoring road usage, after maintaining county roads turned up high on the list of issues residents named during the recent Strategic Plan.
