County Road 406 near Anderson to close Monday morning for bridge replacement project

November 2, 2022 by Willy1550

If you live out in the rural areas south of Anderson, you might need to find alternate routes beginning this Monday.

“County Road 406 will be closed Monday for the bridge replacement, and that is between County Road 246, and County Road 215,” said Commissioner David Dobyanski on Wednesday, during the regular meeting of Commissioner’s Court.

Road and Bridge Engineer Harry Walker, in his road and bridge report, says he has been in contact with TXDOT about the closure.

“I tried to check, and see the duration, and have not gotten a response. But, I am anticipating that closure to will be as long as 6 months…takes awhile to replace a bridge,” said Walker. “Hopefully, it is sooner than that. But, it is not a short term closure. Fortunately, the alternate routes are pretty good…there is not a lot of detour involved. Looking forward to getting that bridge replaced.”

Walker says too that TXDOT should be notifying Anderson-Shiro CISD, as they have a bus route that travels across that roadway.
