Navasota City Council granted a Conditional Use Permit for a new Urgent Care Facility here.
Omar Ibrahim is the Director of Operations for Davam Urgent Care. They operate a clinic in Magnolia and for some time now, he says have been looking to expand into smaller towns.
Navasota is really the first place they looked at, Ibrahim explains, adding that a lot of Urgent Care and other facilities tend to overlook populations of this size because they don’t think there’s enough people to make it profitable. But he says that doesn’t leave folks with a lot of other options other the Emergency Room, and that they can cost up to $3,000 a visit.
Ibrahim tells Navasota News they’re looking to bring to a facility here that has a similar look and feel of Magnolia, but at about half the size. Their Magnolia facility is about 4,000 square feet and the one in Navasota will be around 2,000.
Davam Urgent Care’s current plans call for Navasota’s clinic to be open from 8 am to 9 pm seven days a week. They’ll accept all major insurance, and offer a Medical Membership Program that’ll bring your visits to $20 a pop.
Once they start Ibrahim estimates it’ll take about three months to open the doors and they hope to be here for flu season, so December or January is what they are trying for.
