There’s some federal relief available for agricultural producers in the county of grimes who experienced losses during last year’s drought. But if that’s you, the USDA Farm Service Agency wants to remind you, you have only through the end of this month to sign up for the Livestock Forage Disaster Program.
State director Judith Canales says several types of livestock qualify for the program, including cattle (both dairy and beef), equine, goats deer and more.
And if you had to put extra money into keeping your animals fed, she tells Navasota News, you can get cash payments to ease some the pain of those extra costs, though it won’t completely cover the bill
But eligible or not, Canales warns, you only have until Febuary 1st to find out and apply.
