June 7, 2024 by Willy1550

Among the agenda items of Wednesday’s Grimes County Commissioners’ Court meeting was to discuss and take action to extend the Declaration of Local Disaster for the April-May 2024 Severe Storms.
Emergency Management Services Coordinator, David Lilly, updated the court.

Lilly added that this is just the starting point, and more can come from this, and the next step is to receive official notification from FEMA that Grimes County is in the declared disaster area.

Lilly said that the amount approved is for public assistance project repairs such as county infrastructure and explained the process for individual homeowners to possibly receive FEMA assistance.
