The Grimes County Elections Department announces Grimes County’s first “I Voted” and “Future Voter” sticker design contest. The contest is open to all Grimes County students, K-12, enrolled in a Public, Private, or Homeschool setting.
The winning designs will be used as the official “I Voted” and “Future Voter” sticker in the 2024 – 2025 Election cycle. The Deadline to submit a design is Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 5pm.
“The Grimes County Elections Department is excited to engage its students in the electoral process by offering the opportunity to design a limited-edition sticker for Grimes County Voters and Future Voters. We look forward to seeing the creativity and talent Grimes County Students have to offer,” said Elections Administrator Rachel Walker.
Once all designs are submitted, a panel of 5 esteemed judges will pick the winning design. Contest judges will be Grimes County Judge, Joe Fauth – Navasota High School Government Teacher, Cyndy Harrison – Iola Junior High Social Studies Teacher, Cathy Oliver – Anderson-Shiro Elementary Art Teacher, Sarah Hargrove and Richards ISD Special Education, Frank Schiappa.
Winners will be notified by the Elections Department on Monday, September 16, 2024. Those individuals will then be invited to an award ceremony during the National Voter Registration Day event at the Historical Courthouse located at 100 S Main St., Anderson, TX starting at 5:00 PM, where we will announce the winners to the public.
Participants must agree to the contests official rules and submit their design by completing an “I Voted” (6th – 12th grade students) or “Future Voter” (K- 5th grade students) Sticker Design Entry Form. All Submissions must be sent to elections@grimescountytexas.gov by 5pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
