Dimly lit license plate leads to traffic stop and eventual jailing of Navasota woman on drug charge

May 24, 2022 by Andre Perrard

A car stopped for their license plate not being illuminated ends up with the arrest of a Navasota woman on a drug charge.

The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office report says that happened early Saturday morning at 3 am, on I&GN Road. Upon smelling marijuana, the officer asked 19 year old Ruth Nataly Roan of Navasota to step out of the vehicle, along with a male passenger.

Roan explained it was her brother’s car, who smokes marijuana, and if there was any in the car, it was likely his. The officer found a vape pen on the driver’s floorboard, which contained THC Wax.

She was arrested, and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 2, and released after posting a $3,000 bond.
