Disaster assistance available for losses due to Winter Storm Uri

March 1, 2021 by Willy1550

If you faced loss of water, property, or anything else during Winter Storm Uri, there may be a way you can get some help.

“Go to disasterassistance.gov, get yourself registered, and go ahead and report what you anticipate losing. That was they can…get you in the system. Or, you can call 1-800,621-3362,” said Mayor Bert Miller at the last Navasota City Council meeting.

You can report any losses from the storm, water included.

City Manager Brad Stafford issued a reminder, through, that just because you report your losses from the storm, it does not mean help is guaranteed.

“One of the things FEMA was looking at was helping people, so I know insurance covers some. It will cover maybe some of your deductible. Hopefully. But, it is not a guarantee, remember that. We get these a lot with other storms. This helps them to determine how much damage, and how much money, is actually needed,” said Stafford.

To report your losses from the storm, call 1-800-621-3362, or go online to disasterassistance.gov.
