Discussion of Proposed Bryan ISD Bond Issue Continues Wednesday

July 15, 2014 by Archive

The Bryan school board resumes discussion Wednesday of a proposed $132 million dollar bond issue.

Receiving public attention is moving administrative offices to Stephen F. Austin and replacing classrooms with a new three story building between the civic auditorium and the SFA gym.

Superintendent Tommy Wallis told the board at last week’s workshop the present middle school has the needed meeting and office space, with 2,000 square feet left to spare.

The board votes next Monday night on the proposed bond package.

If approved, existing buildings that are part of the administrative move, including the central office in downtown Bryan, would be sold.
