District Court Sentencings

June 12, 2014 by Archive

A Bryan man has been found guilty of two local bank robberies in the last four years. 62 year old James Kyle Graham pointed what looked like a long barreled pistol and threatened to detonate what looked like a bomb at the former First Victoria branch on East 29th. Less than 15 minutes after leaving, Graham was caught and all the money was recovered. A First Victoria employee recognized Graham as the man who held her up at gunpoint at the former Guaranty Bank on south Texas five years ago. The jury convicted Graham of both robberies and took 30 minutes to decide on punishment of 70 years in prison.

Earlier this week, the district attorney’s office announced another Bryan man pleaded guilty to a pair of aggravated assaults involving three people. 21 year old Joshua Harris admitted to sexually assaulting a 13 year old girl twice, and in a separate incident cut his mother with a large kitchen knife and held the knife against the throat of his mother’s boyfriend. Both incidents took place nearly two years ago. The plea agreement calls for Harris to serve eight years in prison.
