Domestic disturbance call lands Navasota man in jail facing felony Family Violence Assault charge

April 6, 2022 by Willy1550

Calls from a father reporting his daughter was being assaulting by her boyfriend culminate in the arrest of a Navasota man on a pair of charges.

That happened on Friday afternoon, when officers arrived to the 1100 block of Highway 6, and made contact with the couple. The woman stated that while driving, the two became engaged in an argument.

The man eventually began physically striking her, pushing her. According to the arrest report, he then placed his hand over her throat, which the victim reported almost led her to pass out.

Officers observed clear marks of assault on the woman. When talking with the man, officers observed him stand up form his seated position and begin to stretch, indicative of intent to run. When they tried detaining him, he began resisting the officers.

Eventually, 22 year old Kirk Donnell Minor Sapp Jr of Navasota was subdued, arrested, and faces a felony charge of Assault Family Violent Impeding Breathing, and Resisting Arrest. He remains in jail on bonds totaling $12,000.
