Domestic Spat Jails Local Man

July 1, 2018 by Willy1550

A young Navasota man was last reported residing in the Brazos County Detention Center on an $11,680 bond, where he was booked July 25, charged with evading arrest in a vehicle, driving with an invalid license, assault family violence, and possession of drug paraphernalia, along with an outstanding burglary of a habitation warrant from Texas pardons and paroles.

Bryan P.D. Officer P. Bailey reports being initially dispatched to Shiloh Avenue in Sanderson Farms where an hispanic woman had reportedly been kidnapped in her silver Taurus by an hispanic man who’d wrestled with her.

After pulling 25-year-old Jose Garza over in a vehicle matching that description, Officer Bailey says Garza complied with his initial request to put his cigarette out, then suddenly fled the scene when requested to turn off the ignition.

Garza’s alleged victim, 33-year-old Alexandria Martinez, told Officer Bailey that the pair had gotten into an argument while enroute from her Navasota residence. She recalled him cutting his arm with a razor to demonstrate his love for her, accusing her of being unfaithful and demanding her cellphone to search.

Martinez claims Garza was eventually able to take her phone from her pocket, then drove around without allowing her to exit the vehicle, before he was convinced by her to return her to her work.

During his booking, Officer Bailey reports Garza confessed to the evading arrest charge, explaining he did so because he knew about his outstanding warrant.
