Downtown After Dark Begins

November 18, 2017 by Willy1550

The owner of the Gallery Downtown has borrowed a page from Bryan’s economic playbook, hoping a Downtown After Dark can do the same for Navasota’s economy, the fourth Friday of every month.

Local artist Pattie Pederson envisions after hours shopping and live entertainment on the streets beginning in the city’s Historic Downtown Business District along both Washington and McAlpine between LaSalle and Railroad Streets, but she emphasizes that’s only the beginning.

She says all businesses within walking distance from the Historic Downtown Business District will eventually be asked to participate.

Pederson tells Navasota News that the Downtown After Dark concept has worked in Bryan where it began over a decade ago.

So she thinks it will be just as successful here, especially, Pederson adds, now that Navasota City Council has formally approved the program

She urges any business owners who’d like to get onboard to contact her.  You can call her at 936-727-2600, or message her on Facebook at Fourth Friday: Downtown After Dark.
