At around 12pm Monday afternoon (June 19th), Grimes County first responders were dispatched to a fatal motorcycle acccident near the intersection of FM 3090 and FM 149 in Grimes County.
According to Sgt. Justin Ruiz of the Texas Department of Public Safety, a Yahama motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the accident. It is believed that the motorcycle was traveling northbound at an unsafe speed for the curve in the roadway, went off the road striking a fence post.
The driver, Mitchell Childress, 35, of Pasadena was pronounced deceased at the scene by Grimes County Justice of the Peace Lester Underwood.
