The Texas DPS Trooper shot in last Thursday’s gunfire, which killed one at Kent Moore Cabinets, has been released from the hospital.
Trooper Juan Rojas Tovar will be flying from Austin to Madisonville, and is scheduled to arrive at 2:30 pm Wednesday afternoon.
Tovar was injured in the April 8th shooting at Ken Moore Cabinets in Bryan, which resulted in one death and six injuries. Tovar was shot through the windshield whilst pursuing the suspect, and was shot in the eye, among other places.
Citizen’s are encouraged to welcome trooper Tovar back to Madisonville at 2:30 pm today, Wednesday, April 14th. No civilians will be allowed in the airport, and you cannot line up on Highway 21. However, you are allowed to line upon FM 1452 East, near the airport.
Tovar has been with DPS since 2017, having been stationed in Madisonville. Numerous businesses have donated to Tovar’s cause, and he also ha a GoFundMe set up online, to which you can donate.
Larry Bollin of Iola, the shooter who killed one and injured six other in the shooting spree last Thursday, faces five counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, one Murder Charge, and an Attempted Capital Murder Charge out of Grimes County. He remains in the Brazos County jail on bonds totaling $2.2 million dollars.
