An arrest has been made stemming from the 2019 crash that killed an Anderson woman.
According to online records, College Station Police have booked 43 year old Robert Nearlie Blair of Madisonville on charges of possessing methamphetamine following the May crash last year. The police report states that a pipe in Blair’s pocket, who was the driver during the crash, contained meth.
At the time, Blair stated that, while he had used meth previously, the pipe found was not his, and that he had found it while loading construction equipment. He did admit to putting it in his own pocket.
The crash took place in May 2019, when Blair was driving an 18 wheeler on Highway 6. That is when things slowed on the highway for a blown tire, and Blair had to take evasive action to avoid a collision with the traffic. The semi drove into the median, and the flat bed trailer he was towing eventually landed on top of the cab.
That ultimately killed the passenger, who was 45 year old Teresa Schwertner-Lee of Anderson.
Blair is jail in Brazos County in lieu of a $6,000 bond.
