Driver who hit power pole causing outage in Navasota might face charges

March 16, 2023 by Andre Perrard

Charges are pending against a driver who caused a power outage in Navasota on Sunday night.

Navasota Police say around 11:30 pm that night, a Ford Mustang travelling eastbound on Washington Avenue crashed in the 1100 block, rolled over, and hit multiple power poles.

Navasota Fire also responded, and put out a small grass fire which ignited with the live wires.

Power was out in the area for several hours, until Entergy Crews could restore it.

The unidentified male driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and showed signs of intoxication.

Chief Mike MIze did not mention what charges he will face.
