DWI charge filed against Navasota man after allegedly following and threatening to assault someone

August 9, 2022 by Andre Perrard

A Navasota man who allegedly followed someone home and made threats is arrested on charges of DWI.

Bryan Police say they responded to reports of the man around 3:30 am Saturday, who seemed drunk, threatening to assault someone.

The man drove away, and police later found him parked in front of an apartment on Echols Street. When the approached the man, 40 year old Christopher Lee Martinez of Navasota, officers saw vomit on the car door.

Martinez stated it was his vomit, then pleaded with officers, asking “why do you have to do me like this?” Martinez also said during sobriety tests to “just take him to jail.”

Officers honored that request, and Martinez was jailed on DWI charges. He was released after posting a $2,000 bond.
