East Texan Charged in Hot Vehicle Death of His Four Year Old Daughter

July 10, 2014 by Archive

TYLER, Texas (AP) _ An East Texas man has been charged in the death of his 4-year-old daughter and injuries to her 3-year-old sister when both girls were found in a hot vehicle.

Smith County jail records show 33-year-old Russel Lindstrom of Flint was being held Thursday on charges of manslaughter and injury to a child.

No attorney was listed for Lindstrom, who was arrested Wednesday with bond set at $200,000.

Lindstrom’s daughters were found unresponsive June 11 in their family’s pickup truck. Bella Rose Lindstrom died at a hospital. Zoey Lindstrom was treated and released.

Lindstrom has said he put both girls down for a nap but the children later turned up missing. The father says he believes the girls got into the cab and accidentally locked it.

Child Protective Services is investigating.
