Texas voters approved all except one of the 14 proposed additions to the State Constitution on Election Day.
Raising the Homestead Exemption was supported by almost 85% of voters statewide. Increasing state teacher retirement benefits was supported by 84 % of voters. A new fund to add and improve state parks was supported by 76%, and also winning were a new statewide “Water Fund,” “Broadband Fund,” and a new “Energy Fund.”
The one Amendment that was defeated, would have raised the mandatory retirement age for State Justices and Judges. That was defeated by 62% of voters statewide.
