If you’re a Grimes County resident and haven’t cast your ballot yet, voting will be a bit easier Election Day, because Grimes will be a Super Voting Center.
County GOP Chair Joe Fauth says that means if you are a registered to vote in Grimes, you can use any of the fourteen polling stations.
Fauth believes the state is hoping this new methodology will reveal some current voting locations that can be done away with, saving some tax dollars. Reasoning if a station has only 8 people vote there, perhaps it can be done without next time.
Madison County originally had eight precincts, Fauth tells Navasota News, and now there is only half that.
There will still be fourteen polling stations in Grimes this year, he continues, but he imagines that may change once these voting results come back.
Voting booths will be open from seven to seven Election Day, Tuesday. For more information, call 936-873-4424.
