Elections administrator urges citizen’s to get registered to vote with ease at National Voter Registration Event

September 13, 2022 by Andre Perrard

Elections are in about two months, and you can get registered to vote with ease on National Voter Registration Day, coming up September 20th.

Grimes County Election Administrator Lucy Ybarra stopped by the station to talk about all he action ongoing that day.

“We are going to have four different locations across the county…we have done this in the past…it pushes voter registration, and updates before the election. So, people are not scrambling…we use this day to help voters out, and make sure everyone is read to go,” said Ybarra.

Normally, they do it spread out over a week. But this year, things are a little more compressed, and even a little more technologically advanced.

“The locations will be a Brookshire Brothers in Navasota, Grimes County Courthouse, the Bedias State Bank, and the City of Todd Mission,” said Ybarra. “We are also pushing our social media campaign really hard. We will have a QR Code, where you can scan, and go straight o registration to do your online updates, if you  need to.”

National Voter Registration Day is set for September 20th and for more information, contact the election administrator’s office.
