You’ll get a chance next week to find out about, and voice your opinions about a new electrical transmission line in the works that will connect Harris County to the Gibbons Creek sub-station in Northwest Grimes.
Centerpoint spokesperson Alicia Dixon tells Navasota News, Texas is growing fast and will need this line to supply the increasing energy need.
But where this line will be laid is still up in the air. That’s why they are holding public meetings. Giving you a chance to tell them things they don’t know.
Ultimately, Dixon continues, the Public Utilities Commission of Texas will have the final say as to the route, so everything brought up at public meetings will be relayed to it.
This project, she adds, is recognized as critical to the continuation of reliable electrical power in our area, as growth and consumption will wear down current supplies.
And, Dixon stresses, the project needs to be finished by 2018.
If you want your voice to be heard, you will be able to meet with Centerpoint reps at a public meeting from 5 to 8 Thursday (11/06) evening at the Grimes County Expo Center.
