Entergy asking for voluntary reduce in consumption amid damage from Hurricane Laura

August 27, 2020 by Willy1550

Entergy Texas, which provides electricity to customers in and around our area, has started periodic power outages due to Hurricane Laura.

A news release on Thursday states this is a last resort for Entergy to prevent a more extensive and prolonged power outage that could severely affect the reliability of their power grid. Not only did Entergy sustain extensive hurricane damage in east Texas and west Louisiana, Entergy anticipates high demand due to high temperatures.

Additionally, Entergy is asking customers north of Houston to voluntarily reduce consumption.
