The next phase of construction on the Navasota RIver bridge is set to begin this week.
TXDOT announced on Friday that the new phase will do the same as the first, which will upgrade the side railing, and joints. Traffic now will shift from the left lane being closed, to the right lane being closed on the highway.
The next phase, however, will also cause closure of the northbound entrance ramp to Highway 6, coming off FM 3090.
The detour has been revised so that northbound traffic on Business 6 must travel to the Highway 90 turnaorund to go back north. The eastbound and westbound traffic on FM 3090 wanting to go northbound on Highway 6 will also have to use the Highway 6 feeder road to the Highway 90 turnaround.
Construction is expected to take about 3 weeks to complete.
