Escapee Salvador Saucedo Succumbed to Self-Inflicted Injuries

According to an official media advisory from the Waller County Sheriff’s Office, “Salvador Saucedo was pronounced clinically brain dead on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 5:59 p.m.
Saucedo, who had been the subject of an ongoing manhunt following his escape from Bellville Hospital while in custody has been in the hospital since Tuesday due to his self-inflicting gunshot wound to the head.
Medical personnel released his body to the family around 8:45 p.m. Thursday to determine the destination of his organs as he was an organ donor.
The investigation into the start of the fire is being handled by Grimes County and any further question regarding that investigation shall be directed to them.”
